This week we will begin Unit 3: American Becomes A World Power. Please look to the Vocabulary and Unit Questions links at the top to see what we will be focussing over the next month and a half. Here are the lessons we will cover this week. I hope everyone enjoyed the break with their friends and family. But this week we have a lot to do as we finish up Unit 2: The Progressive Era. This week each class will have their Unit test. Please do not forget about your monthly writing piece due this week (the task sheet is in the post below). The due dates for each class are in the post below this one. Any lessons we have not yet covered are located 2 posts below this one. Most likely each class did not get to “Government Involved With Economy” and Government Involved With Business.” Have a good week and study hard! For the first time this school year we can kick back, relax, and enjoy some time with our families. But, of course, that does not mean we do not have work to do! This week during class youare going to take some time to start your writing piece for November, which is a reasearch project focusing on an individual “Progressive.” Your task is to choose one, and investigate them more deeply by doing research about them. I am going to try to get every class into the computer lab this week for at least one period to start doing some research. I am also very excited that Monday, 11/23, myself and 40 students will be going to Ellis Island! It should be a good trip and a nice day out of the building (assuming the weather holds up!). In this post you will find the writing assignment worksheet which tells you everything you need to know about the assignment for over the break. Progressive Era Research Project Please do not hesitate to e-mail me over the break, cgoldberg86@gmail.com, with questions or rough drafts of your research project. I will be more than happy to give you feedback. The due dates for each class for this project are as follows: 801 - Tuesday, 12/1/09 802- Wednesday, 12/2/09 803- Wednesday, 12/2/09 804- Thursday, 12/3/09 Have a great Thanksgiving Break and be ready to hand in your projects and finish up Unit II: The Progressive Era when we return! We have a ton to do this week as we already begin to wrap up Unit 2: The Progressive Era. This week you will also recieve your monthly writing piece which we will be on this website as soon as it is available. It will be a research project where you will investigate a “progressive” we have studied over the past few weeks more deeply. Here are the lessons we will be covering this week: Government Involved With Economy Government Involved With Business Remember, you can e-mail at any time with questions about any of the work we do in class or homework at cgoldberg86@gmail.com. Also, if you were chosen to go on the Ellis Island trip which is one week away (Monday, 11/23/09), be sure to bring in your permission slip and money ASAP. After Monday I am going to begin to open up the trip to other students. Finally, if you still owe me an essay, it is long overdue but as always it will accepted late. See the post below for the outline that needs to be handed in along with the essay itself. |
